This university year saw the first ever Business Ball organized by the newly formed NUIM Bizz Soc and a group of third years from the Business and Management degree. It was held in the Glenroyal Hotel in Maynooth on the 26th of April 2011 and was attended no less than four hundred students of NUI Maynooth. The night consisted of a wine reception, finger food, a highly entertaining band and DJ in the night club part of the hotel. We also had a professional photographer to take pictures of groups as they entered the ball room, the largest in the hotel. This night was a highlight in the NUI Maynooth student events calendar and the first major event hosted by the Bizz Soc. It went ahead with no glitches and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. We marketed it through our Facebook page which can be found by searching “NUIM Bizz Soc”. Next year’s committee, plan to run with a similar event, while trying to improve on this year’s ball. The NUIM Bizz Soc would just like to thank everybody who contributed their time and effort to the growth and success of this event and society, especially the School of Business in NUI Maynooth.
